In 2021, one main topic created a remarkable division of opinions in the space industry: Do SPAC (Special-Purpose Acquisition Companies) belong in SPACE?

With some recent successful missions in the sector catching the general public’s eye, more and more private and public players are exploring the investment possibilities of a SPAC in the hope of acquiring the next ‘golden ticket’.

Although going public through an IPO can be a tedious and lengthy process, the ‘SPAC wave’ of these recent years has divided the space industry, thanks to its success and flop stories.

With such a hot divisive topic on our hands, we cannot wait to see sparks and bolts fly off our SPACEtalks 3.0 panel “IPO 2.0: No SPAC no SPACE”. The fourth panel of our Aerospace conference is entirely dedicated to this topic.

Guiding us through this topic of conversation will be our panel of experts formed by:

  • Raphael Roettgen – Managing Partner at E2MC Ventures
  • Eric Stallmer – Executive Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy at Voyager Space Holdings
  • Rob Desborough – Managing Partner at Seraphim Space
  • Timo Karakashev – CEO at Cosmonauts
  • Manny Shar – Head of Analytics at BryceTech
  • Simon Drake – Partner at Space Ventures Investors

If, like us, you want to dive into this topic and explore the success stories along with the risks of SPACs in the Space sector, then take this as a formal invitation to join us on the 27th of April at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus for SPACEtalks 3.0!

Following the success of last year’s edition, Cosmonauts is pleased to announce the third instalment of the SPACEtalks series is coming back, this time with a new event host– the Science Facilities and Technology Council (STFC).

Designed for aerospace-related industry professionals, decision-makers at aerospace, commercial organisations, start-ups, governmental agencies, and academia, SPACEtalks is a aerospace tech event shaped around discussions about the industry’s current trends.
