We’re thrilled to announce that London IP Week is back for its sixth edition! With three action-packed days of exciting networking opportunities, captivating product demonstrations, engaging speaking sessions, and even an interactive IP workshop, this event promises to be even better than ever before.

London IP Week (LIPW) operates as the ultimate intellectual property hub. This event brings together the many cornerstones of the thriving IP ecosystem, including IP managers, in-house counsels, CEOs, CTOs, esteemed Heads of IP, and many more. Over 40 experienced speakers will take to the stage to discuss, analyse, and shape the future of intellectual property. The exhibition floor will be filled with leading IP tech specialists and providers, ready to engage and demonstrate their revolutionary ideas. And we’ve built in dedicated networking breaks to the agenda to ensure you walk away with new, lasting connections relevant to you!

The Conference

Taking place on the 26th and 27th of September 2023, the London IP Week conference will host dozens of industry leaders and seasoned professionals dedicated to anything and everything intellectual property. We’ve split the conference into two parts to ensure each and every corner of the industry is covered: day one will be focused on Tech for IP, while day two will take on IP Management and IP Commercialisation.

Tech for IP

The 26th of September is our full-day conference taking on the latest and greatest in IP tech. Whatever questions or concerns you may have about technology taking on intellectual property, this is the place to be!

‘SaaS-y IP’, our first panel, hosts industry legends Dr. Rachel Free, Partner at CMS and Patricia Paias, Partner at DLA Piper among others to discuss how to digitise and streamline IP processes with tech to not only reduce costs, but increase efficiency. From implementing software solutions to using big data and business intelligence, we’ve covered IP tech.

IP Management and IP Commercialisation

The second day of London IP Week is all about IP Management and Commercialisation – from building your brand (and protecting it) in economic downturn to strategies for swift dispute resolutions, our panels analyse this key topic from every angle.

‘IP Disputes and Litigation’, ‘DALL-E, VALL-E, and ChatGPT’, and ‘Brands in Recession’ are a few of the panels to look forward to. The industry experts taking the stage during these exciting panel sessions include Lara Sibley, Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney and Partner at Marks & Clerk LLP; James Blick, Director and Co-Founder for Erso Capital; and Tom Hadden, Vice President – Global Intellectual Property of Barclays.

Riveting standalones are also part of the agenda – expect to hear exclusive insight directly from key figures from across the industry, like Blanca Chouls-Davies, Senior Legal Counsel at Google UK. Blanca will take a deep dive into ‘Navigating Advertising Regulation to Boost Your Brand and Your Advertising ROI’.

Mathys & Squire Consulting IP Workshop

The legends at Mathys & Squire Consulting are back for another interactive workshop on a variety of hot IP topics! Whether you’re looking for basic or masterclass-level training, this workshop is the place to hone your IP knowledge and skills.

Taking place on the 28th of September at The Shard in London, the workshop will focus on five key points of your company’s IP: creation, capturing, protection, valuation, and exploitation. The experts at Mathys & Squire Consulting have worked with organisations across the world on these topics, helping people leverage their knowledge and awareness of intellectual property – you’ll be in very capable hands!

This is a separate event from the conference – be sure to secure your place so that you don’t miss out!.

Last Year

We can’t wait until the next London IP Week. This event takes on the future of intellectual property by connecting, teaching, and empowering the trailblazers spearheading this fascinating industry – it’s a truly magical experience. But don’t just take our word for it!

Here’s what some of our star attendees said at last year’s event:

‘This is such an amazing opportunity for brand owners, providers, and law firms to come together and discuss some of the trends related to IP and to be listened to. So many various presentations that were going to the very core of our business – it was very useful for practitioners.’ – Consuelo Michetti, Online Brand Protection Consultant, LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions

‘If you’re an IP law firm, or if you’re someone that just deals with IP, I think this is a great place to come to.’ – Philip Cartlidge, Business Development Manager at Dennemeyer

‘I think it’s great for anyone that’s working in any cluster in the IP space. I would really recommend this event to patent attorneys and academia. I will absolutely come back next year.’ – Clio Davies, Senior Director, IP & Legal Operations Consulting Sparks IP, an Epiq Company
